The Challenge
Student-parents are balancing academic responsibilities with caregiving, often without knowing what supports are available to them. Despite existing services, many students remain unaware of resources, miss opportunities for engagement, and experience their university journey in isolation.
2. Research
Background
The University of Alberta launched the Students Who Parent initiative to better understand and support students with caregiving responsibilities. The initiative aims to create a more parent-friendly campus and improve access to services and resources.
I participated in the initiative's survey and used its findings, combined with additional user interviews and secondary research, to better understand the student-parent experience.
